Yuma County court orders return of marijuana, property to MMJ patient; RLG medical marijuana attorney Ryan Hurley says county attorney cannot ignore MMJ law

Arrested at the border last year for possession of marijuana and other contraband, Valarie Okun won a court case in Yuma County because she is a valid medical marijuana patient.

“It is unfortunate the county attorney and the AG are threatening patients and those complying with Arizona’s Medical Marijuana Act, despite the fact several courts have already disagreed with their position and have ordered the state to proceed,” said Ryan Hurley, co-chair, RLG Medical Marijuana Department.

“This case out of Yuma is yet another example which shows the county attorney cannot simply ignore the will of the voters because he does not like the result.”
