Connecticut Supreme Court rules horses are ‘naturally vicious’ [VIDEO]; Rose Law Group equine attorney and Cave Creek Vice Mayor Adam Trenk calls the decision ‘utterly ridiculous’

Screen Shot 2014-03-27 at 2.36.42 PMThe Connecticut Supreme Court has upheld a ruling that horses are a “naturally vicious” species.

The ruling means that owners of horses need to take proper precautions to prevent the animal from causing harm to a person.

The decision stems from a 2006 lawsuit filed when a boy was bitten while trying to pet a horse at a Milford farm.

Owners and farmers have said the decision will make horses difficult to insure.

Statement by Adam Trenk:  “An utterly ridiculous ruling from a Connecticut court that could have unintended consequences on participants in the horse industry, including increased insurance costs and new safety standards for equine enclosures.”
