Pinal County, other municipal primary election ballots [UPDATED]

(Editor’s note: This is a partial list of candidates for municipal elections in Pinal County. The list will be updated when further information becomes available.)

electionsCoolidge mayor and council:

Mayor — Jon Thompson and Gilbert Lopez

Council –Tami Hodge, Robert Hudelson, Gary Lewis, Tatiana Murrieta, Norma Polee-Muhammad, Nitza Verdugo and Dr. Jack Wang.

Maricopa

Mayor — Christian Price (Former councilman Leon Potter failed to gather enough signatures to make the ballot.)

Councilmember 4-year Term: Peggy Chapados, Marty Hermanson, Rachel Leffall, Vincent Manfredi, Patrick Melvin, Nicholas Sheppard, Henry Wade

Councilmember 2-year Term — Lee Feiles, Nancy Smith, Rich Vitiello

Florence:

Three seats will be filled.

John Lee Anderson, H. Douglas Carlson, Lyle Gilbertson, Becki Guilin, Peter Villaverde, and incumbent Vallarie Woolridge.

The other two incumbents, Tom Celaya and Vice Mayor Tom Smith, are not running.

Queen Creek

Gail Barney will run unopposed for Queen Creek mayor, and eight people submitted candidate packets for three Town Council seats by the May 28 deadline. The following candidates will appear on the August 26, 2014 all-mail primary election ballot:

Mayor: Gail Barney
Town Council: Emilena Turley, Kyle Robinson, Lanny Brown, Dawn Oliphant, Julia Wheatley, Del Caron, Jason Gad, Larry Chesley
Any candidates receiving a majority of all votes cast in the primary election will be declared elected to the office for which he or she is a candidate without running in the general election, which is scheduled for November 4, if needed.

Pinal County

Election 2014: Primary contests shape up

Chandler City Council:

Chelle Daly, Jon Beydler, Kevin Hartke, Rene Lopez, Sam Huang, and Terry Roe

Tempe City Council:

Incumbents Shana Ellis and Robin Arredondo-Savage will face challengers Lauren Kuby, Matt Papke, David Schapira, Dick Foreman and Ernesto Fonseca. Councilwoman Onnie Shekerjian, Tempe’s vice mayor, whose term ends this year, did not seek reelection.
