ASU finalizes agreement to integrate Thunderbird school

Arizona State University finalizes a previously announced deal to take over the Thunderbird School of Global Management, naming Allen Morrison as the school’s CEO and director general.

Most Thunderbird faculty and staff are expected to go to ASU, and the deal appears to secure Thunderbird’s future. It’s expected to be finalized by year-end.

The ASU agreement appears to end a tumultous period for Thunderbird, which had sought a controversial partnership with a for-profit school amid stiff alumni opposition.

Arizona State University has inked a final agreement to take control of the Thunderbird School of Global Management, ensuring the Glendale college’s financial future but also ending nearly seven decades of independence.
