6 big projects for Tucson in 2015

Road Runner is looking toward transportation projects scheduled to begin or make progress in 2015.

DOWNTOWN LINKS

An $84.7 million project that would streamline travel from Interstate 10 to Broadway via St. Mary’s Road, Sixth Street and Barraza-Aviation Parkway is moving along. The final plan and property acquisitions for the stretch from Church Avenue to Broadway are scheduled to be completed in 2015. The project was first discussed in the 1980s by the Arizona Department of Transportation, but real progress started when voters approved a multibillion-dollar Regional Transportation Authority plan in 2006.
