Glendale councilmembers consider icing the Coyotes arena deal

As news broke last week that members of the Glendale City Council were discussing the possibility that the Arizona Coyotes may have defaulted on their agreement with the city, at least three members of the council have confirmed they may begin looking into how to void the deal.

An article in a Canadian newspaper outlined how some members of the council believe IceArizona has been in breach of contract over the management of Gila River Arena.

The city agreed to pay IceArizona $15 million per year to manage the arena at a time the city was facing financial difficulties, but the deal still passed by a 4-3 vote.
