Planned Pima County tax hike has home industry nervous

With a property tax increase looming in Pima County, some in the business community say enough is enough.

“Pima County already has the highest property tax in the state of Arizona; we already have that going against us,” said Nicole Brule-Fisher, Tucson Association of Realtors president.

The county Board of Supervisors has taken steps to increase the county’s property tax rate to $5.96 per $100 assessed value — 20 cents per $100 assessed value more than this year — to fund a $1.116 billion fiscal 2016 budget plan.
