Florence annexing future solar farm

There could soon be another large solar farm in Florence, with the town’s plans to take in a half square mile at the town’s eastern edge off Diversion Dam Road.

This photovoltaic solar energy plant, expected to generate up to 50 megawatts to the SRP power grid, is planned on 282 acres of the 312-acre annexation site. It is bordered by Diversion Dam Road to the south, Quail Run Road to the east, the Bonnybrooke Road alignment to the north and the private Padilla Road to the west.
