Fund for elderly homeowners sparks feud between County Treasurer Hoskins and state Rep. Olson

A war of accusations has erupted between Maricopa County Treasurer Charles “Hos” Hoskins and Rep. Justin Olson over funding for a property tax credit for low-income, elderly homeowners.

In a letter to recipients of tax credits from the county’s Elderly Assistance Fund, Hoskins warned that the money will run out in about two years. The program for years was funded through a 16-percent fine on delinquent property tax payments.
