[COLUMN] APS hires army of lobbyists to thwart solar initiative

Solar activists gathered outside the state Capitol today to protest a legislative/APS scheme aimed at thwarting a proposed ballot initiative designed to protect solar customers.

Meanwhile, APS was inside the state Capitol, designing its battle plan to get the Legislature to counter the Arizona Solar Energy Freedom Act.

The solar initiative was proposed on April 15 and within a week, APS had hired six – count ‘em six – high-powered lobbyists, according to the Arizona Legislative Report
