Newspaper industry veteran Kent Johnson became publisher of Arizona News Service, which publishes Arizona Capitol Times, on May 4.
Johnson most recently was the publisher of Ahwatukee Foothills News, beginning in 2012. Prior to that, he was the advertising director of the East Valley Tribune.
In the Phoenix area, he has served on the Ahwatukee YMCA board for three years. He is also a board member of the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce, and serves as the group’s treasurer. In 2014, he was the chairman of its board.
