APS power lines could block scenic views at Scottsdale WestWorld

Arizona Public Service power lines, strung from steel poles up to 100 feet high, could be the first sight to greet visitors at Scottsdale’s mega-event center WestWorld next year, including hundreds of thousands of spectators and television viewers for Barrett-Jackson’s annual collector-car auction.

The plans have sparked outrage among property owners near Loop 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, an area known for wide-open mountain views and tourist attractions like the auction and Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show.
