Carolyn Allen, former lawmaker and arts advocate, dies at 78

Former state lawmaker Carolyn Allen, who seasoned her passion for the arts and the environment with a snappy, direct intensity, died Saturday morning.

The Scottsdale resident, 78, was in hospice care, suffering from complications due to nearly 40 years of living with rheumatoid arthritis.
