Courts reject attempts to stop South Mountain Freeway construction for fifth time

Those opposed to the construction of South Mountain Freeway aren’t having any luck through the United States legal system.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, courts rejected attempts to stop construction of the freeway for the fifth time.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the Gila River Indian Community’s motion for an injunction pending appeal this week.
