Medical marijuana cultivation approved by Coolidge zoning commission

The Coolidge Planning and Zoning commission approved a property use permit for the growing of medical marijuana during a special meeting on Wednesday.

The approval marks the first of many steps before actual marijuana plants are grown on the location at 3274 W. Coolidge Ave., as the applicant will still have to submit site plans and other permits for approval by the commission.

“One of the conditions is that they have to abide by all the state and county requirements,” said Gilbert Lopez, developmental services director.
