Arizona legislator wants president to disclose tax returns

Better late than never?

An Arizona lawmaker has introduced a bill to require presidential candidates to submit five years of federal and state income tax returns to the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office to get on the general election ballot in the state.

Sen. Juan Mendez, D-Tempe, introduced Senate Bill 1500 in response to President Donald Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns, something presidential candidates have done for the past 40 years.
