The utilities that own the mine can get cheaper power today from natural gas

No decision has been made, the plant owners said, but Tobin said more needs to be done to ensure its operation

Arizona Corporation Commission member Andy Tobin has called for an “emergency summit” to try to save the troubled coal-fired power plant near Page and the mine that feeds it.
