San Tan Valley residents see ‘blueprint for growth’

As part of the first phase of the San Tan Valley Special Area Plan, Pinal County hosted two open house meetings last week to gather input from hundreds of residents.

The plan is meant to refresh the direction for officials to follow when it comes to the area’s future land uses, roadways, open spaces and more. It also aims to make a distinction between the current visions for San Tan Valley and those outlined in the 2009 countywide Comprehensive Plan, bringing modernized ideas to assist residents, county staff, local utility providers and more to sustain infrastructure goals in the area.

Kevin Kugler, director of planning for Michael Baker International, the county’s consultant on the plan, defined it as “a blueprint for growth.”
