Changes approved for future Villago development

Communities Southwest, based in Scottsdale, owns about 1,200 acres surrounding the existing Villago subdivision, located near Pinal Avenue and McCartney Road.

Major changes may be coming to the north end of town.

The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning commissioners Thursday approved changes to the Villago community that will include — eventually — extending Trekell Road from McCartney Road to Val Vista Boulevard. The original plan called for Trekell Road to curve through the neighborhood and exit on Pinal Avenue.

Planning and Development Director Paul Tice said the owner has agreed to modifying Trekell Road into a straight north-south corridor.
