U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) joined two of his colleagues Friday in filing a House resolution to ask special counsel Robert Mueller to resign because of a conflict of interest.

The resolution, authored by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, accused Mueller of having a conflict of interest because he was the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation when former President Barack Obama’s administration approved the Uranium One deal in 2010.

Under the deal, a Russian-owned company purchased part of a Canadian company that controlled uranium interested in the United States.

Critics of the deal have alleged Mueller kept the public in the dark while officials — including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — allowed the agreement to go forward for personal gain, despite the risks it posted to the American public.
