[BREAKING] Arians announces retirement as Arizona Cardinals coach

Bruce Arians points to the crowd afer a win.

A day after becoming the winningest coach in Cardinals history, Bruce Arians became an ex-coach, announcing his retirement in a tearful press conference at the team’s Tempe facility.

Arians, 65, won 50 games with the Cardinals, one more than Ken Whisenhunt, and became the first Arizona Cardinals coach to depart on his terms.

Arians went 50-32-1 in five seasons in Arizona, including a 1-2 record in the playoffs.
