Frito-Lay wins national green award

Frito-Lay’s plant in Casa Grande has been selected Green Business of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the Pacific Southwest Region.

The award will be presented officially by EPA Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld at a future date.

Frito-Lay, part of PepsiCo’s North America Division, has launched an ambitious sustainability project that took the production facility at 1450 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway “off the grid,” running primarily on renewable energy sources and recycled water, while producing zero landfill waste.
