High court affirms top-two for the statewide ballot

Moments ago, the Yellow Sheet reported, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the trial court decision  permitting the top-two primary initiative on the November ballot.

A panel composed of justices Bales, Berch and Pelander determined that the trial court did not require the Save Our Vote committee to introduce its signature sheets into evidence one at a time and did not abuse its discretion in disallowing the introduction of thousands of petitions as evidence in a single motion, as the committee argued in its appeal.

Nor, the court ruled, did Superior Court Judge John Rea, abuse its discretion in limiting Save Our Vote to two hours to present its case.
