Medical marijuana shop to get Tucson approval

By Hannah Gaber

For Arizona Daily Star

The city is about to issue its first permit for construction of a state-licensed medical marijuana dispensary at 112 S. Kolb Road.

A building permit will probably be issued Tuesday, city Planning and Development Director Ernie Duarte said. It will allow “tenant improvements” to prepare the strip mall storefront for use.

Rouben Beglarian, president of Green Medicine, confirmed plans for the dispensary but would not comment further.

The location received preliminary zoning approval on Aug. 2 and was selected in the state lottery to receive a dispensary certification on Aug. 9.
