Metro Phoenix’s construction industry reached a milestone in August.
Adding the third-highest number of new jobs of any metropolitan area in the nation, the region pushed the size of its local workforce to a four-year high, according to an analysis released Thursday by the Associated General Contractors of America.
The Valley recorded 90,800 construction workers in August — an increase of 7 percent, or 6,300 jobs, from the same month last year, according to the analysis, which is based on the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
