Pence Center at RLG client Central Arizona College ready for public

A year and $6.9 million later, Central Arizona College’s Don P. Pence Center for the Visual and Performing Arts opens to the public this weekend with a remodeled house and lobby and state-of- the-art technology.

The Saturday grand reopening celebration includes three live performances.

The Arizona Puppet Theater’s free performance of “Three Little Kittens: a Mewsical” is set for 11 a.m. Go to www.EventsAtCAC.com to download free tickets.

Central Arizona College’s choir department, voice and instrumental students perform “Sounds of Signal Peak” at 2:30 p.m. in the choir room. The concert is sold out.

The Gin Blossoms — a Tempe-based American pop rock band best known for “Hey Jeal- ousy,” “Found Out About You,” the “Major Lodge Victory” album and the “No Chocolate Cake” album — perform at 7 p.m.

CAC’s So Much for Serious rock band opens for the Gin Blossoms. Tickets are $20 and are still available at www.EventsAtCAC.com. Unsold tickets, if available, will be sold at the door.
