Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Tempe saw increases in the overall median home price this year compared with 2011.
The biggest increase in the Southeast Valley was in Mesa, where the overall median home price rose 20 percent, from $120,000 to $144,000.
Prices reflect sales from Jan. 1 through Aug. 31, and are based on an Arizona Republic analysis of data from informationmarket.com.
That analysis of the 32 ZIP codes that encompass the Southeast Valley’s four main communities shows:
The smallest median home-price increase was in Chandler, where it rose from $180,000 in 2011 to $200,000 in 2012.
Only one ZIP code saw a decrease in overall median value and that was 85248, Sun Lakes.
