Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane has joined several Phoenix City Council members in calling for greater transparency at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, a prominent lobbying and service organization.
His request comes on the heels of the Phoenix City Council’s decision to renew membership in the association despite concerns from several council members that the group needs to be more transparent and improve relations with the city.
Lane, a member of the league’s Executive Committee, in a letter to President Doug Von Gausig Wednesday, asked that the leadership committee hold its meetings in a way consistent with Arizona’s Open Meeting and Public Records laws.
