Certain that everybody loves a bargain, Maura Eggan is building a promotional campaign for the new Phoenix Premium Outlet Center, adjacent to Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino at Interstate 10 just south of Loop 202, that will be opening in the spring.
The first Premium Outlet Center in Arizona, just south of Ahwatukee and just west of Chandler, will be among roughly 60 such shopping centers in the U.S. and about a dozen more in Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Mexico.
Eggan, vice president of marketing for the Western Region Premium Outlets, says the centers promote everyday discounts on designer brands, offering high-end items for discerning bargain hunters.
Each Premium Outlet Center reflects its geographic area, so the Valley outlet mall’s architecture will fit in well with the area, Eggan said.
The center, where Phase I construction on 355,000 square feet of leasable space began March 27, will include 90 to 110 stores, according to project manager Mark Kroeger. Premium centers typically have 40 to 180 stores.
