Copper company stakes out home sites — literally

A Tucson-based mining company has announced plans to stake mining claims on a number of home sites located north of the Pioneer Hills and Chaparral Estates Subdivisions.

Bronco Creek Exploration, Inc. has sent certified letters to more than 30 homeowners in this area announcing their exploration work in the Globe-Miami area has “now advanced to the point that we feel it is important to protect our general interests where your land is located,” reports Arizona Silver Bell.

Bronco spokesperson Chelsea Kriener went on to say in this correspondence, “Therefore we have filed necessary documents with the BLM to initiate actions to stake mining claims (on your property).”

Bronco Creek already also has mining claims on some 8,000 acres of federal land in the Globe-Miami are, which is covered by 412 unpatented lode mining claims for two separate projects.
