In a strange way, it is almost appropriate how the twisting, turning saga of the Phoenix Coyotes and their Glendale arena is coming, at last, to an apparent end:
The path has cleared for the Coyotes to keep playing at Jobing.com Arena during a league-wide National Hockey League lockout. Why, of course.
It is as though the ice gods are conspiring to keep the Coyotes and their loyal fans from enjoying a hockey game, as opposed to court fights, ownership negotiations and multimillion-dollar arena management deals.
Still, by a 4-2 vote a majority of the Glendale City Council has confronted the reality of their costly city-owned ice arena, and we believe they have made the best of two bad choices.
