[OPINION] Pinal County threw away one gem of a prosecutor

Conservatives like to think of themselves as more capable of rising from the ashes of Election Day disasters because their governing philosophy is more grounded in debate, as opposed to moral assertion and self-righteousness, which brooks little dissent.

And considering their track record on the national scene, they’re getting really good at debate …

For all the losses among conservatives and their causes last Tuesday, the one that stings most was a Democrat. And a comparatively obscure one, at that.

Jim Walsh professionalized his office in his five years as Pinal County attorney. Prosecutions were up; crime, way down. Intra-office turmoil and scandal were non- existent, which is something even Arizona’s most big-shot prosecutor cannot claim.
