RLG partner Court Rich notes consortium is drafting ‘road map’ for Arizona energy policy

The Arizona Energy Consortium (AEC) is finalizing a working draft of a road map to offer some perspectives on where the state can go with energy practices, from providing good statewide policy to encouraging economic development, reports The Phoenix Business Journal.

“It is great that there are groups out there looking at these important issues, said RLG partner Court Rich.

“While these groups are looking to have their say, it is the ACC (Arizona Corporation Commission), through the utilities’ ongoing resource planning processes, that is really setting our course for the future as far as generation and energy mix, he added, however.

Rich said it is important people be engaged directly with the key policy makers right now while big decisions are pending before the ACC.

That AEC road map is designed to work in concert with plans being developed at the state and regional level that could further define Arizona’s role, not just in renewable energy production, but in carving out the sector as one of Arizona’s economic pillars, the Business Journal stated.
