Prime spots in one of Phoenix’s most popular areas for working, shopping and living are getting a makeover.
The middle of the Camelback Corridor, stretching from 16th to 32nd streets, is attracting interest from investors, large new office tenants, big-draw retailers and more prospective residents.
The Anchor Centre at 22nd Street and Camelback Road, one of the first mid-rise office buildings in Phoenix outside of downtown or the city’s Central Avenue, is being renovated by a group that paid $52 million for the property.
The Town and Country shopping center at 20th Street and Camelback recently drew a Nordstrom Rack. And central Phoenix’s first Whole Foods Market is scheduled to open in the 50-year-old shopping center in the spring.
Biltmore Fashion Square at 24th Street and Camelback is drawing more restaurants, and now tenants are lining up to try to get space in the popular center, according to real-estate brokers.
