Despite some Arizona Republicans’ continued opposition to the state’s voter-approved medical-marijuana program, the voters still like it, according to recently released poll results.
While 59 percent of poll respondents said they support Arizona’s 2010 Medical Marijuana Act, 59 percent of people said they would vote “yes” for a ballot initiative that proposes marijuana be regulated like alcohol.
The question asked, “If an initiative appeared on a future ballot in Arizona, proposing that marijuana be regulated in a manner similar to alcohol and sold to adults 21 years of age or older in state-licensed stores, would you vote ‘yes’ in favor of this initiative or ‘no’ against this initiative?”
Of the 59 percent who voted “yes” in the poll, 40 percent said they “feel strongly” about it, while the other 19 percent said they “don’t feel strongly” about the possible ballot proposal.
