Schweikert keeps GOP peace, votes for Boehner

Although House Speaker John Boehner’s decision to take plum committee assignments away from four Republicans, Arizona’s David Schweikert voted to retain the speaker. Schweikert will lose his seat on the House Financial Services Committee.

He, however, was the only one of the four deposed committeemen to support retaining Boehner as House speaker.

Schweikert says he was concerned about starting a family fight on the first day of the new Congress.

Reps. Gosar, Franks and Salmon also voted for Boehner.
