While the ongoing community debate over the proposed redevelopment of the Mountain Shadows Golf Resort appears to be coming to a resolution, Paradise Valley Town Council and Crown Realty & Development continue to hash out the brass tax of the deal behind closed doors.
Paradise Valley Town Council opted to continue the matter — a proposal to redevelop the defunct resort property with both residential property and a 100-room boutique hotel — to a Feb. 28 public hearing, but officials say residents can expect that hearing to be continued as well.
“We are significantly apart on the development agreement,” Paradise Valley Mayor Scott LeMarr said Feb. 14 at Town Hall prior to the public hearing. “Until we bridge the development agreement — there is no deal.”
Crown Realty officials contend the underlying issue of the proposed revitalization of the property hinges on two documents: A 1992 development agreement and a 1962 declaration of restrictions placed on attached residential property.
