‘Republic’ reporter recounts his Hollywood act in comic book

Fans of “The Room” can get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look in a comical form into the process of becoming the film’s orphaned neighbor — Denny.

Actor Philip Haldiman is releasing a comic book series “My Big Break,” where he brings to life his experiences in Hollywood, as well as his character in the cult film.

Haldiman, a reporter for The Arizona Republic covering the communities of Paradise Valley, Arcadia and Cave Creek.

“The comic book captures the spirit of my ups and downs as a struggling actor in Los Angeles,” Mr. Haldiman said in a press release. “And really, I’m not sure if there’s any other medium that could be more appropriate to tell this story than the comic book.”
