Solar is popular in Arizona, and a new survey shows that opinion isn’t waning.
The annual Conservation in the West Poll, done by the Colorado College State of the Rockies Project, found that 62 percent of Arizonans would choose solar power as their first choice of energy, with natural gas a distant second at 9 percent.
Arizona results are a bit of an outlier in the survey, where most renewable choices were selected as a first choice by about 30 percent, give or take, in the other five states surveyed.
When the top two energy responses are combined, solar is desired by 74 percent of respondents in Arizona.
