(Editor’s note: RLG attorney Adam Trenk was the top vote getter in the Cave Creek election this month)
In the wake of a strong showing by the challengers for Cave Creek Town Council in last week’s primary election, three incumbents have dropped out of the May runoff race.
Town Clerk Carrie Dyrek said council members Shelley Anderson, James Bruce and Dick Esser submitted statements late Tuesday withdrawing from the runoff.
The statements have been submitted to the Maricopa County Elections Department, and their names will not be included on the ballot May 21, Dyrek said.
The three have 14 years of combined experience on the council.
The shake up guarantees the new Cave Creek Town Council will have a majority of newcomers.
