February 26, 2013
December 31, 1990, was the day I started living again. That is the day Carole came into my life. I got to know her better, we started dating and I sensed she was a fun lady and I had to be a part of her life.
We were engaged in February and married in May. Carole was vital, vivacious, vibrant, assertive, charitable, and benevolent. She connected with people with ease and cared deeply about her friends and family.
Carole loved helping people. She was moved by the theatre, and loved the Phoenix Theatre and their cast. The love she received from the cast brought her so much joy; it was a miracle to see this in action.
Her tireless work and passion with charities included the American Heart Association, Child Help, Suns Nite Hoops, Phoenix Suns Charities, Nancy Lieberman Foundation, Muhammad Ali’s Fight Night, Best Buddies and too many other charities to name.
Carole’s enormous contribution to the Valley was recently recognized when she was selected as one of 48 “Arizona’s Most Intriguing Women.” Carole was democratic – she would speak to janitors and CEOs with equal love and respect. On February 26, 2013 she lost her valiant fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), a disease where there is no hope.
Carole will be missed by me, her family, her friends and her wonderful cat named “Millie”. I lost, her family lost and our community has lost. Carole’s unconditional devotion to me changed my life. Her spirit will forever be with me and in my heart.
I LOVE YOU CAROLE
