Jim Holway, who is on the board of the Central Arizona Project and a Democrat, filed paperwork last week to explore a possible run for Corporation Commission, the Yellow Sheet reports.
Holway, who taught at ASU’s School of Sustainability and at the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, told the Yellow Sheet that while his political experience is limited, he is no novice, having been elected to the Central Arizona Water Conservation District in 2010 and is a director of Western Lands and Communities Program of the Sonoran Institute.
He said he doesn’t think the commission took the right step in rolling back solar energy incentives and added having the commission membered only by Republicans isn’t good.
