UPDATE: City official disputes dismissal

Scottsdale is searching for a new head of economic development after former director Jim Mullin was fired last week.
On Monday, acting City Manager Dan Worth confirmed that he asked Mullin to leave, saying he “was not the right guy” for the job.
Mullin did not receive a severance package, Worth said.
“I need the right person to exercise day-to-day leadership for our economic development group,” Worth said.
“At this point in time, we needed someone in the office exerting that role as leader for the rest of the group and having a greater degree of interaction with business and corporations and members of the public we deal with.”
