Sups vote down MMJ dispensary for Dudleyville

By Brian Wright | Casa Grande Dispatch

A medical marijuana dispensary won’t be opening anytime soon in Dudleyville after the Pinal County Board of Supervisors voted against it Wednesday.

The board voted 5-0 to deny a special use permit to Pinal County Wellness Center, located on the west side of Arizona 77, south of Valentine Road in the Dudleyville area — formerly the location of Palmer Steakhouse.

MMJThe county Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval to the supervisors with a 4-2 vote. However, the board was unified in its rejection, with several reasons given for why it didn’t approve the facility.

Concerns included safety, crime, traffic issues and inadequate notice given to area residents about a public meeting.
