After two successful General Plan meetings, the latest aimed to reach out to the recreation side of the community looking into the parks, open spaces and trails in Coolidge.
Ricky LaPaglia, Director for Parks and Recreation, gave a presentation Thursday on the current state of the parks and open spaces in town, and outlined their vision for the future that could include an interconnected system of parks and walking paths.
Growth Management Director Rick Miller explained that the attendance was up from the last meeting, but nothing compared to the packed house for the first meeting back on Jan. 15, that kicked off the General Plan. Miller and the City of Coolidge want the General Plan to be a conversation between the city and its community members.
“It’s not that uncommon,” Miller said. “Many people like to participate through
meetings.”
“It’s meant to be a public process, and tonight we’re talking about one of the most exciting elements in my opinion which is the parks open space and trails element of the General Plan.”
