Azcentral’s most popular video excerpts from the Jodi Arias murder trial read like a steamy romance novel — or, rather, a steamy romance-gone-bad novel.

The trial opened with salacious photos. A sex tape was shown in open court. Arias flipped off her demure switch to go tit-for-tat with a badgering prosecutor.

Perhaps that’s why the trial has received national media attention and why the murder victim’s house in Mesa has become somewhat of a tourist attraction.

Republic columnists Laurie Robert and E.J. Montini discuss the case’s voyeuristic details in the video

Statement by RLG founder Jordan Rose: “I have been commenting on the trial every other day for months for CNN’s HLN Jane Valdez Mitchell show.  I think it draws people in as we have this underlying fear that our legal system, the best system in the world, could somehow allow for a pretty girl, who clearly went pyscho after her boyfriend’s rejection, to face a much reduced punishment.  It is the wonder that comes from watching it from the outside, not knowing if the guilt we clearly see is being felt by the jury.  You wonder how the jury could decide this woman acted in self-defense when the only testimony of that defense was provided by a proven liar – the killer herself.  You hope that justice is served.”
