At Wednesday’s regular session, Camp Verde Town Council agreed to pay Felipe Zubia $10,000 to lobby staff and members of the Arizona Department of Transportation’s State Transportation Board to not only include the widening of State Route 260 on ADOT’s 5-year plan, but also for the project to be fully funded.

At this time, the SR 260 widening project is in ADOT’s five-year plan, but with only $7 million of the estimated $40 million in costs to be covered. The $7 million currently allocated would be for engineering and enhancements.

For the project to be fully funded, this would include full or partial funding from ADOT’s budget, or full or partial bonding for the project.

If Zubia, principal for ReSEED LLC, is able to successfully lobby ADOT, the Town will pay him a final consulting fee based on when the project is fully funded:

• A fee of $50,000 if the project is fully funded by the 2016 fiscal year, or

• A fee of $30,000 if the project is fully funded by the 2017 fiscal year, or

• A fee of $20,000 if the project is fully funded by the 2018 fiscal year.
