Councilmember and Vice Mayor Tony Rivero has been working on the upcoming Cinco de Mayo event since December. He said it is important to him for two reasons:
1) It is cause for celebration and a way “to bring our community together,” and
2) the City of Peoria wants to give back to the community.
May 4, citizens from all over the city and even other close or faraway places are invited to join in the celebration at Peoria’s Centennial Plaza, 9875 N. 85th Ave., on the south side of Peoria City Hall, and east of the city’s development services building at the northeast corner of Mountain View Road and 85th Avenue. The party takes place noon to 11 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to eat, party, and relax.
