The Chandler City Council on Thursday approved the rezoning of a 29-acre parcel near the southwestern corner of Price and Willis roads from agricultural to commercial to make way for a business park.
The site, in the South Price Road Employment Corridor, was initially a part of a larger plot on which San Diego-based developer Douglas Allred Company planned to build multitenant buildings. The company had requested an amendment to the city’s General Plan, which reserves this area for large employers.
That amendment request was been withdrawn and the proposal for this plot fits with the current General Plan requirements, Chandler Planning Manager Kevin Mayo said.
The preliminary development plan for Allred Park Place, which was approved by the council April 11, calls for a business park with as many as two individual employers.
