The southern Arizona town of Sahuarita has a new town manager, AP reports.
The Town Council voted unanimously in a special meeting Wednesday night to hire Kelly Udall for the job.
Since 2004, he has managed Pinetop and Lakeside — two small towns in the White Mountains area of eastern Arizona.
Before that, Udall was interim town manager in Payson for one year and city manager for a year in Federal Heights, Colorado
The 50-year-old Udall will start his job in Sahuarita on May 13.
He replaces Jim Stahle, whose contract wasn’t extended. He’s been town manager since 2001.
Udall graduated from Arizona State University and has a master’s degree from the University of Colorado.
He’s a fourth-generation Arizonan with Morris Udall and Stewart Udall being his second cousins once removed.
